Water Heater Repair
When the hot water runs out early or never arrives, the cause is usually a single component: a thermocouple or igniter on a gas unit, a heating element or thermostat on an electric one, or a flow sensor on a tankless system. Hard water speeds up many of these failures. Scale settles in the bottom of a tank, overheats the steel and wears through the anode rod that keeps the tank from rusting.
Our plumbers test the unit before replacing anything, then repair the failed part, often on the first visit. We also flush sediment, check the relief valve and look at venting, because a water heater that works but vents poorly is still a safety risk. If the tank itself is leaking, we’ll explain why replacement is the better spend. Considering an upgrade? Compare tankless water heaters.
Symptom Check
Catch these early and a repair is usually all it takes.
A pilot, igniter, element or breaker problem.
Sediment filling the tank or a failed lower element.
Water boiling under a layer of mineral scale.
A spent anode rod or corrosion starting inside.
A fitting, valve or the tank itself is leaking.
Ignition, flow or scale faults on an on-demand unit.
What We Repair
Tank and tankless, natural gas, propane and electric.
How It Works
Repair when it makes sense, and an honest word when it doesn’t.
Tell us the type, the age and what’s happening.
We check burners or elements, controls, valves and venting.
You see the cost, and how it compares with replacing.

Seasonal checkups for every system in your home.
Seasonal checkups catch small problems before they become emergencies — and keep your systems running efficiently all year.
If it’s under ten years old and the problem is a part like a thermostat, element or thermocouple, almost always. If the tank is leaking, it can’t be repaired. If it’s near the end of its expected life and needs an expensive part, putting that money toward a replacement usually makes more sense.
The usual cause is a worn thermocouple or a dirty pilot assembly that can’t hold the flame. Drafts, a venting problem or a faulty gas valve can do it too. These are common repairs and the parts are small, but because gas is involved, they’re best handled by a licensed plumber.
Yes, all four, around the clock. See your local page: Flagstaff, Durango, St. George & Hurricane or Jackson. Each covers the water and climate conditions that team sees most often, from hard-water scale to frigid winter supply lines.
Once a year is a good rule, and more often where the water is very hard. Flushing drains the sediment that causes popping, lost capacity and early tank failure. Our $99 flush and safety check covers the sediment flush, an anode and valve check, and a full safety inspection of one tank.
Turn off the cold water supply valve on top of the heater, then turn off the gas or the breaker. If water is spreading, open a nearby hot water tap to relieve pressure. Then call us. A leak from a fitting can often be repaired; a leak from the tank itself means it needs replacing.
