Hydro Jetting in Durango
A drain cable punches a path through a blockage and gets water moving again. It doesn’t remove what’s stuck to the pipe walls, and in Durango that’s often the real issue: years of kitchen grease, hard-water scale and soap residue narrowing the line, or fine roots growing in at a joint. The opening closes up, and a few months later you’re calling about the same drain.
Hydro jetting sends water at high pressure through a nozzle that sprays forward to cut the blockage and backward to scrub the walls and carry debris downstream. We look at the line on camera first, because brittle or broken pipe needs a gentler plan or a repair instead. Jetting is also how a line gets prepared for trenchless lining, and it works on a run out to a septic tank as well as a city sewer. To see what’s in your line before deciding, start with a camera inspection.
Symptom Check
Jetting earns its keep when ordinary clearing stops lasting.
The same drain backs up within weeks or months of being snaked.
Grease cools and hardens in the pipe, building up layer by layer.
Roots that were cut once tend to return through the same joint.
Scale and sludge narrowing the main line a little more each year.
Rotting buildup on the pipe wall smells even when water flows.
A pipe has to be scoured clean before a liner can bond to it.
What We Jet
From the kitchen branch to the main line and the run to the tank.
How It Works
Every jetting job starts and ends with a view inside the pipe.
How often it clogs, what’s been tried and where the cleanouts are.
A camera checks the pipe’s condition and finds the buildup.
Jetting, repair or both, priced before we begin.
We clean the line, then run the camera again to show you the result.

It can if the pipe is already broken, which is why we look first. Sound clay and cast iron usually handle jetting well when the pressure and nozzle are matched to the pipe. If the camera shows cracks, offset joints or a collapse, we change the plan, and the line may need sewer repair rather than more cleaning.
Usually, in time. Jetting removes the roots inside the pipe, but the gap they came through is still there, and they grow back toward the moisture. Regular jetting keeps them in check for a while. For a lasting fix the joint has to be sealed, often with trenchless lining that closes every gap at once.
Yes. The line between the house and the tank collects grease and sludge like any drain, and jetting clears it with plain water, no harsh chemicals that could upset the tank. Debris is flushed toward the tank, where it belongs. If the backup is coming from the tank itself, we’ll tell you, and that becomes a septic repair call.
Not always. For a home with one stubborn grease clog, a single jetting can keep the line clear for years if habits change. Lines with hard-water scale, roots or heavy cooking use may benefit from scheduled cleaning. After the job we suggest an interval based on what the camera showed, not a fixed schedule. Restaurants and other commercial kitchens often jet on a regular plan.
