Built for desert homes
110° summers that push air conditioners to the limit and hard water that wears out water heaters and fixtures — we know your climate.
Emergency HVAC in St. George
On a July afternoon in Washington County, a house without cooling can climb past 90° inside within hours. For infants, older relatives, anyone with a health condition and pets, that’s dangerous, not just uncomfortable. Winter brings its own urgent calls: a furnace that quits on a freezing night, a gas smell near the heater or a carbon monoxide alarm going off.
Element answers the phone 24/7, including weekends and holidays. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll get a technician out to diagnose the problem, give you a price before any work starts and fix what can be fixed on the spot. For common failures in air conditioners and furnaces, that’s often the same visit. If a part has to be ordered, we’ll make the system as safe and usable as possible in the meantime.
Is It an Emergency?
These situations shouldn’t wait for a weekday appointment.
Especially with babies, older family members or pets at home.
A cold house overnight can also put exposed pipes at risk.
Get everyone outside first, then call the gas utility and us.
Leave the house, call for help and don’t run the furnace until it’s checked.
Shut the system off at the thermostat and breaker, then call.
An overflowing drain pan can damage ceilings and floors quickly.

Maintenance Membership
Seasonal checkups for every system in your home.
Seasonal checkups catch small problems before they become emergencies — and keep your systems running efficiently all year.
Yes. Element is available 24/7, including nights, weekends and holidays. When you call, we’ll ask what the system is doing, how long it’s been down and who is at home, so we can put safety first and send a technician prepared for the likely problem. If there’s a gas smell or a CO alarm, we’ll tell you what to do first.
Close blinds on sunny windows, run ceiling fans, drink plenty of water and stay in the coolest room, usually the lowest floor. If anyone is vulnerable to heat, consider going somewhere cooled until the repair is done. Don’t keep resetting a breaker that trips.
Get everyone out, call emergency services and stay outside. Don’t run the furnace again until a technician has tested the venting and combustion. We check flues, heat exchangers and gas connections and will explain what we find. See heating repair.
Whatever the hour, you’ll see the full price before any work begins, and you decide whether to go ahead. There are no surprise charges added to the bill afterward. If the repair can safely wait for a regular weekday visit, we’ll tell you that honestly too, and you can choose what works for you.
Most of the after-hours breakdowns we see start as small problems a tune-up would have caught: a weak capacitor, a dirty flame sensor, a slow drain line. Book AC maintenance in spring and heating maintenance in fall, or ask about our maintenance plan.
