Leak Repair

Every drip stopped at the source

Faucets, supply lines, shower valves and hidden pipe leaks repaired before the water damage spreads.

Leak Repair

A small leak is still a leak

Water damage rarely starts with a flood. It starts with a faucet that drips all night, a toilet that seeps at the base or a pinhole in a copper line inside the wall. Hard water wears out washers, cartridges and seals quickly, and freeze-thaw cycles crack joints in pipes that run along exterior walls. By the time a stain shows on the ceiling, the wood behind it has often been wet for weeks.

Our plumbers repair leaks of every size, from a worn cartridge to a corroded section of supply pipe. When the source isn’t obvious, we use leak detection equipment to find it before opening anything. If the leak is underground between the meter and the house, that becomes a water line repair, and we’ll explain the options and the price before any digging starts.

  • Source, Not Symptom We trace the water back to where it’s escaping.

Clues that water is escaping

Not every leak drips where you can see it.

  • A Higher Water Bill

Usage climbing with no change in your habits.

  • Running Water Sounds

A hiss or trickle in the walls when every tap is off.

  • Stains or Bubbling Paint

Discolored drywall, peeling paint or swollen trim.

  • A Musty Smell

Damp, mildewy odor in a room with no obvious water.

  • Warm Spots on the Floor

Can mean a hot water line leaking under the slab.

  • Puddles Under Fixtures

Water in the sink cabinet or around the toilet base.

Leak repair questions

Is a dripping faucet worth fixing right away?

Yes. A steady drip wastes thousands of gallons a year, and in hard-water areas the mineral trail it leaves etches the sink and stains the finish. The repair is usually a cartridge or washer, which is quick and costs far less than the water and the fixture damage it prevents.

What is a slab leak?

It’s a leak in a water line that runs under a concrete floor. Signs include warm spots on the floor, the sound of running water and a meter that moves when nothing is on. We locate it first, then either repair the pipe through a small opening or run a new line around the slab. Learn about leak detection.

Can you repair leaks at every Element location?

Yes. Leak repair is offered by all four teams, any hour. For local service, visit Flagstaff, Durango, St. George & Hurricane or Jackson. Each page covers the climate, water and towns that team works in, and the offers that apply there.

Will you have to cut open my wall?

Sometimes a small opening is needed to reach the pipe, but finding the leak precisely first keeps that opening small. We cut only where the leak is, make the repair and leave the opening ready for drywall patching. We’ll tell you before we cut so nothing is a surprise.

My pipes keep leaking in different places. Why?

Repeated leaks usually mean the pipe itself is wearing out, often from corrosion or hard water. Fixing each one as it appears gets expensive. At that point it’s worth pricing repiping against continued repairs, and we’ll lay out both so you can compare.
