Water Heaters

Hot water you can count on

Gas, electric and tankless water heaters repaired, flushed or replaced by licensed plumbers at all four Element locations.

Hard water and cold winters wear water heaters out

Most of the water heaters we see fail for the same two reasons. Hard water drops scale into the tank, where it rumbles, insulates the burner and eats the anode rod. Cold incoming water, from a Flagstaff or Jackson winter main, makes the heater work longer on every cycle. Add altitude, which changes how gas units burn and vent, and a heater that would last years longer at sea level can wear out early here.

Every Element location repairs and replaces tank and tankless water heaters. Pick yours for local details and offers: Flagstaff, Durango, St. George & Hurricane or Jackson.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long should a tank water heater last?

A typical tank lasts somewhere around 8 to 12 years, and hard water pushes it toward the short end. Regular flushing and a fresh anode rod help. If yours is past that range and starting to leak or rumble, compare the cost of a repair with a replacement before you spend money on it.

Is a tankless water heater worth it?

For many homes, yes: hot water on demand, no tank heating around the clock and a smaller footprint on the wall. It does cost more to install, and it needs the right gas line, venting and sizing. Our tankless water heater page explains when it makes sense.

Why does my water heater make popping noises?

That sound is usually water trapped under a layer of mineral sediment at the bottom of the tank, boiling as the burner heats it. It wastes energy and stresses the tank. A flush often quiets it. If the tank is old and the noise is constant, it may be close to the end of its life.

Are there water heater specials?

Yes. Every location offers $250 off a new tank water heater and a $99 flush and safety check. Mention the offer when you schedule.

Can I finance a new water heater?

Yes. Tank and tankless replacements can both be financed, so a failed heater doesn’t have to be paid for all at once. See financing for current options.
