Indoor Air Quality in St. George
If you dust the furniture in St. George on Monday and it’s coated again by Thursday, you already know the problem. Fine red sand slips in around doors and windows, and your HVAC system spreads it from room to room. Add pollen in spring, wildfire smoke drifting in some summers and air so dry it cracks lips and irritates eyes, and the air inside can feel worse than the air outside.
Element starts with a test rather than a sales pitch. We measure fine particles, volatile chemicals, carbon monoxide and humidity, then explain the results in plain terms. From there we recommend only what your home needs, whether that’s a better filter, a whole-home purifier, a UV light in the ductwork or a humidifier. Everything ties into your existing heating and air system.
Symptom Check
If several of these sound familiar, a test is the quickest way to find out why.
Surfaces and vent covers collect a fresh layer within days of cleaning.
Sneezing, coughing or congestion that eases when you leave the house.
Dry skin, cracked lips, static shocks and scratchy throats all winter.
Smells that linger after cleaning or come from the vents.
You smell wildfire smoke indoors even with the windows shut.
Headaches or fatigue that improve when you’re away from the house.

Maintenance Membership
Seasonal checkups for every system in your home.
Seasonal checkups catch small problems before they become emergencies — and keep your systems running efficiently all year.
Desert dust is fine and light enough to get in through small gaps around doors, windows and attic penetrations. Once inside, the HVAC system moves it around. A tighter filter seal, higher-efficiency filtration and regular system maintenance usually make a clear difference.
It can help a lot. Smoke particles are very small, and high-efficiency filtration or a whole-home purifier in the ductwork captures many of them before they circulate. Running the fan during smoky days helps the system keep cleaning the air.
Roughly 30 to 50 percent is comfortable for most homes. St. George air often falls well below that, especially in winter when the furnace runs. A whole-home humidifier connected to your HVAC system can bring it back into range without portable units in every room.
A kit or a basic monitor can tell you something is off, but it won’t show why. Our test looks at several pollutants at once and checks how your HVAC system is moving and filtering air, which tells us what to fix.
Yes. Clean air and clean water go together, and St. George water is very hard, which leaves scale on fixtures and spots on glass. We install water softeners, filtration and reverse osmosis systems as well, and we can look at your water during the same visit if you’d like.
