Well Water Solutions
City water is tested and treated before it reaches you. A private well isn’t. Whatever the aquifer holds comes straight into the house: sand and silt, iron that stains the tub, sulfur that smells like eggs, minerals that scale every fixture, and sometimes bacteria after a wet spring or nearby runoff. Water can look and taste fine and still carry something worth treating, which is why well water treatment starts with a test.
Once we know what’s in your water, we design treatment in the right order. Sediment filtration protects everything downstream. Iron and sulfur systems handle staining and odor. A softener deals with hardness, and UV disinfection guards against bacteria without adding chemicals. Well systems are offered by our St. George and Jackson teams, both of which serve plenty of rural homes on private wells.
Symptom Check
Your senses catch a lot, but a test catches what they can’t.
Orange or brown marks in sinks, toilets and laundry from iron.
A rotten-egg odor from the taps, often worse with hot water.
Sand or silt settling in a glass or clogging faucet screens.
Hard crust on fixtures and a water heater that’s losing ground.
Water that tastes of metal, even when it looks clear.
Coliform or other bacteria found in a well water sample.
What We Install
Your test results decide which of these your system includes.
How It Works
We build well systems in a careful order, starting with data.
We sample the water and check what’s in it, including bacteria if needed.
We lay out each treatment step and why your water needs it.
You see the full system and its cost before anything is installed.
We install the system, then test again to confirm the results.

Our St. George and Jackson teams test private wells and build treatment around the results.
Maintenance Membership
Seasonal checkups for every system in your home.
Seasonal checkups catch small problems before they become emergencies — and keep your systems running efficiently all year.
Well water solutions are offered by our St. George team, covering Hurricane and Washington and Iron counties, and our Jackson team, covering Teton County and Star Valley. In Flagstaff or Durango, our plumbers install water filtration and softeners and can talk through your water.
A yearly test for bacteria is a sensible baseline, with a broader test every few years or whenever something changes: a new taste or smell, cloudiness, flooding nearby, or work on the well. Test again after installing treatment, too, so you know it’s doing its job.
Usually it takes a few stages working together, installed in the right order. Sediment comes out first so it doesn’t foul the media after it. Iron and sulfur treatment comes before softening, and UV disinfection goes last, on clear water. We design that sequence from your test, not from a one-size package.
Our focus on this page is water quality. Low pressure, short cycling or no water at all can point to a pump, pressure tank or switch problem. Call your local team and describe what you’re seeing, and they’ll tell you whether it’s work they handle. For leaks and supply line issues, see plumbing repair.
No. UV light disinfects as water passes a lamp, so nothing is added and taste and odor stay the same. It only works on clear water, which is why it sits after sediment and iron filtration. The lamp needs replacing on a regular schedule to keep working.
