Drain Cleaning in Jackson
Most clogs in Jackson homes are ordinary: hair and soap in the shower, grease and coffee grounds in the kitchen, lint in the laundry line. Others are less ordinary, like a drain line that sags under a slab, or a main that freezes where it runs shallow near the foundation. A plunger or a bottle of drain cleaner rarely reaches the real problem, and harsh chemicals can damage older pipe.
Our plumbers match the method to the blockage. A cable snake breaks up most clogs in a single pass. For grease, sludge and buildup coating the pipe wall, high-pressure water jetting scours the line clean. When a drain keeps clogging, we put a camera down it to see whether roots, a break or a belly in the pipe is to blame, and if so, we’ll walk you through sewer line repair. On septic properties we can tell you whether the backup is in the line or at the tank.
Symptom Check
Catch a clog while it’s slow and it’s far easier to clear than a full backup.
Water around your ankles at the end of a shower means hair and soap are building up.
Grease and food scraps set up in the trap and the line behind the wall.
Trapped debris starts to rot and the odor comes back up the pipe.
A toilet that gurgles when the sink drains is a sign air can’t move freely.
Lint-packed laundry lines spill when the washer pumps out.
A shallow or exposed line can freeze and block flow until it’s thawed and cleared.

For pipe in sound condition, yes. Jetting uses water, not chemicals, and cleans the whole pipe wall instead of punching a hole through the clog. On older or damaged lines we look with a camera first, because a cracked pipe needs repair rather than more pressure.
Cold slows everything down. Grease hardens faster in a cold line, and a section that runs shallow or through an unheated space can partly freeze. If the clogs line up with cold snaps, we’ll check the line’s depth and slope on camera and recommend a fix that stops the pattern.
Yes. On properties outside town, a full or failing tank can back up into the lowest drains in the house. If several fixtures slow down at once and you’re on septic, we’ll check the line to the tank and tell you where the problem is. See septic repair.
Keep grease, coffee grounds and wipes out of the drains, and use hair catchers in showers. Wipe greasy pans with a paper towel before you wash them. If a drain is slowing, call before it stops completely: a partial clog is quicker and cheaper to clear than a full backup.
