Trenchless Sewer Repair in St. George

Keep the yard, replace the pipe

A typical St. George lot puts a lot on top of the sewer lateral: pavers, a concrete driveway, drip lines, desert landscaping that took years to fill in. Underneath it, the soil is often hard caliche that fights every shovel. An open trench means cutting through all of it, then rebuilding it afterward. Trenchless methods skip most of that.

With pipe lining, we pull a resin-soaked liner into the old line and cure it in place, leaving a smooth new pipe with no joints for roots to find. With pipe bursting, a bursting head splits the old pipe outward while it pulls a new one into the same path. Both work from one or two small access pits. Not every line qualifies, so a camera inspection comes first. If trenchless won’t work for your pipe, we’ll tell you and quote a conventional sewer line repair instead.

  • Landscaping Spared Two small pits instead of a trench across the yard.
  • Jointless New Pipe A continuous liner or pipe that resists roots and corrosion.
  • Financing Options Larger sewer projects can be paid over time.

Symptom Check

When trenchless is worth a look

These are the situations where avoiding a trench saves the most.

  • Line Runs Under Concrete

Driveways, patios and walkways you’d rather not break out and pour again.

  • Mature Trees Above It

Digging near roots can kill a shade tree that took decades to grow.

  • Roots at Many Joints

A liner seals every joint at once instead of chasing roots one by one.

  • Cracked Clay or Cast Iron

Old pipe that’s failing in several places along the run.

  • Hard, Rocky Ground

Caliche and rock make open trenching slow and costly to restore.

  • Repeated Spot Repairs

A line that’s been patched before and is breaking again elsewhere.

Trenchless Methods

How we repair without a trench

The method depends on how much of the pipe is left and how the line is laid out.

  • Cured-In-Place Lining A resin liner inflated and cured inside the old pipe.
  • Pipe Bursting New HDPE pipe pulled in as the old line is split apart.
  • Sectional Point Repairs A short sleeve that seals one crack or bad joint.
  • Pipe Preparation Roots and scale cleared by jetting so a liner bonds properly.
  • Locating and Access Pits Small, precise openings placed where they do the least harm.
  • Permits and Inspection We handle the paperwork the city requires for sewer work.

How It Works

What a trenchless job looks like

Most of the work happens inside the pipe, out of sight.

  1. Inspect and Measure

We record the line and confirm it suits lining or bursting.

  2. Approve the Quote

You see the method, the access points and the upfront price.

  3. Clean and Install

We clear the old pipe, then line it or pull the new pipe through.

  4. Inspect and Restore

A final camera pass, then we close and tidy the access pits.

Trenchless sewer questions from St. George homeowners

Is trenchless sewer repair possible for every home?

No. A pipe that has fully collapsed, has severe bellies, or has sharp bends and tight transitions may not take a liner or a bursting head. We also need workable access at one or both ends of the run. The camera inspection answers these questions before you commit to anything, and we’ll say plainly if open trenching is the better choice.

What’s the difference between pipe lining and pipe bursting?

Lining builds a new pipe inside the old one, so it works best when the host pipe still holds its shape. Bursting destroys the old pipe and replaces it with new pipe in the same path, which suits lines that are badly cracked or too narrow. Both avoid a long trench. We’ll recommend one after seeing your line on camera.

Does trenchless cost more than digging?

The repair itself can cost a little more up front. What you save is everything above the pipe: concrete, pavers, turf, drip irrigation and plants that would otherwise be torn out and replaced. You’ll get both prices to compare when both are possible, and you can pay over time with financing.

How long does a trenchless repair take?

Many residential lining and bursting jobs are finished in a day or two, compared with several days for a trench through hard ground. Liners need time to cure before the line goes back in service, and some jobs wait on a city inspection. We’ll tell you when you can use your plumbing again before we start.

Do you offer trenchless repair outside St. George?

Yes. We work in Hurricane, Santa Clara, Ivins, Washington, Bloomington, Little Valley, Springdale and Cedar City. Older neighborhoods with established landscaping are where trenchless methods tend to pay off most, but any home with a failing lateral is worth an inspection.
