A plumber in Ivins who also handles the AC, heat and wiring

Ivins sits at the mouth of Snow Canyon, a few hundred feet above St. George, with Tuacahn and the red cliffs as its backdrop. A lot of homes here are in planned communities like Kayenta and Padre Canyon, and many carry more than one system: a main AC plus a mini-split in the casita, a softener in the garage, a long run of plumbing out to an outdoor kitchen. Whether you need a plumber in Ivins for a leak under the slab or a technician for the casita mini-split, we service all of it.

Ivins is covered by our St. George team, a short drive across the Santa Clara bench. Summer calls here usually start with AC repair, and the first cold night brings furnace repair calls. Year-round, we handle water heater repair and drain cleaning, and we install and service water softeners for the area’s hard water. We’re available 24/7, and you approve the price before we start.

Local knowledge: Ivins

What Ivins homes need from their systems

Ivins sits at about 3,150 feet on the Santa Clara bench, where Snow Canyon opens out of the Red Mountains. It’s semi-arid country with long, bright summers, and it has grown fast: from 6,753 residents in 2010 to 8,978 in 2020. Much of that growth came as planned developments, some built around golf courses, joining older communities like Kayenta and Padre Canyon.

Those homes tend to be spread out. Single-story layouts, casitas, detached garages and outdoor living spaces mean longer pipe runs, more than one cooling system and bigger electrical loads. A main AC and a ductless mini-split in a guest casita each need their own maintenance, and a water heater at one end of a long house can leave the far bathroom waiting for hot water. A recirculation pump or a second heater can fix that.

Summer heat and blowing dust are hard on outdoor equipment. Condenser coils clog, capacitors weaken, and a unit that runs all afternoon in July has little margin left when something wears out. Keeping the coil clean and the refrigerant charge right makes a real difference here.

Water is the other recurring issue. Ivins shares the hard water found across Southern Utah, and the minerals show up as white crust on fixtures, spotted glass shower doors and scale in water heaters and tankless units. A softener protects all of it, and a reverse osmosis system under the sink gives you better drinking water.

At the 2020 census about 15 percent of Ivins homes were counted as vacant, and a house that sits empty for weeks needs a plan. Before you leave, set the thermostat sensibly, shut off the main water supply and have someone check in. A slow leak in an empty house can do weeks of damage before anyone sees it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you service mini-splits in casitas?

Yes. Ductless mini-splits are common in Ivins casitas, garages and additions, and we repair, clean and install them. They need the same yearly care as a central system, especially a filter and coil cleaning. Read more about ductless mini-splits.

Why does it take so long to get hot water at the far end of my house?

In a long, single-story home, the hot water has to push out all the cold water sitting in the pipe first. A recirculation pump keeps warm water near the fixtures, and in some homes a second or tankless heater makes more sense. We’ll look at the layout and give you options with prices.

How should I prepare my Ivins home before leaving for the season?

Shut off the main water valve, set the thermostat to protect the house without running all day, and unplug what you can. Have someone check in regularly. If you’d like a pro to look things over first, book a visit before you go, or ask about our maintenance plan.

Is the water in Ivins hard?

Yes, like most of Southern Utah. You’ll see it as white scale on faucets and shower glass, and it builds up inside water heaters too. We test your water and recommend the right softener or filtration system for it. Learn about water treatment.

Can you add an EV charger to my garage?

We can. A licensed electrician checks your panel capacity, runs a dedicated circuit and installs the charger. If the panel needs an upgrade first, you’ll get that price up front. We can add surge protection on the same visit. See EV charger installation.

Do you handle furnace repair in Ivins, or only air conditioning?

Both. Ivins winters are short, but clear nights drop near freezing, and a furnace that sat idle all summer often fails on the first cold evening. We repair gas furnaces, electric heat and the heating side of mini-splits, with a safety check on every call. See furnace repair for the problems we fix most often.
