24/7 Emergency HVAC
A furnace that quits on a January night in Cedar City and an air conditioner that dies in a 110° Washington County afternoon are both emergencies, just different ones. In the cold, the risk is frozen pipes and a house that drops toward outdoor temperature by morning. In the heat, it’s the people inside: babies, older relatives, anyone with a health condition, and pets. Neither one is a problem to leave for the next business day.
Element answers heating and cooling emergencies 24/7, including holidays. A technician diagnoses the failure, tells you what it will cost and gets your approval before starting the repair, the same as on a weekday. Emergency HVAC is covered by our St. George & Hurricane team. If what’s gone wrong is a burst pipe instead, see emergency plumbing.
Is It an Emergency?
If any of these are happening, don’t wait for business hours.
Indoor temperature falling and pipes in outside walls at risk.
The house climbing past safe temperatures with vulnerable people inside.
Get everyone out first and call the gas utility from outside.
Leave, call 911, and have the furnace checked before it runs again.
Shut the system off at the thermostat and the breaker.
A failed condensate drain or cracked pan soaking a ceiling or floor.
What We Handle
The failures that most often leave a house without heat or cooling.

Maintenance Membership
Seasonal checkups for every system in your home.
Seasonal checkups catch small problems before they become emergencies — and keep your systems running efficiently all year.
In winter, close off unused rooms, open cabinet doors under sinks on outside walls and let a faucet drip to keep water moving. In summer, close blinds on sunny windows, run ceiling fans and move people and pets to the coolest room. Either way, keep doors shut to hold whatever heat or cool air you have.
It’s a safety emergency first. Leave the house without flipping switches, then call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once they’ve made it safe, we can repair the furnace or appliance involved, and in Southern Utah our plumbers handle gas line repair as well.
Whatever the time, you’ll know the price before the work begins, and nothing happens until you approve it. Ask when you call and we’ll explain how pricing works for your visit. Larger repairs that turn into a replacement can be spread out with financing.
Don’t use an open flame to thaw them. Shut off the main water valve if you see a split or a leak, then call. Our plumbers can thaw lines and repair breaks; see emergency plumbing. Getting the heat back on is what keeps it from happening again tonight.
Our St. George team covers heating and cooling emergencies, including Hurricane. In Durango, a no-heat boiler call goes to our Durango boiler team, also answered 24/7. Whichever team you reach, the repair is priced and approved before it begins, holidays included.
