Hydro Jetting at Element
A drain cable is good at one thing: boring a hole through a blockage. That works for hair or a dropped toy. It doesn’t work when the pipe itself is lined with years of kitchen grease, hard-water scale or fine roots, because the cable passes through and leaves the coating behind. Water starts flowing again, the coating keeps catching debris, and the same drain backs up a month later.
Hydro jetting sends a jet of water at high pressure through the line, with a nozzle that sprays forward and back to scour the full pipe wall and flush the debris downstream. Our plumbers set the pressure for the pipe material and its condition, and they look before they jet when the line is old or the cause is unclear. Hydro jetting is offered by our Flagstaff, Durango, St. George and Jackson teams.
Symptom Check
These point to buildup coating the pipe rather than a single clog sitting in it.
The drain ran fine for a few weeks after the last cleaning, then slowed down again.
Grease from years of cooking has narrowed the line under the sink and beyond.
Fine roots have found a joint and keep catching paper and waste.
Mineral crust has built up inside older drain pipe and shrunk its opening.
More than one fixture is slow at once, which points to the main line.
Decaying grease and sludge stuck to the pipe wall keep the smell coming back.
What We Jet
Jetting suits most residential drain and sewer lines that are sound but dirty.
How It Works
Most homes are jetted in a single visit.
Tell us about the drain and its history. Repeat clogs are useful to know about.
On older or unknown lines we check pipe condition before choosing a pressure.
We explain what we found and price the jetting before the hose goes in.
We clean the line end to end, then run water to confirm full flow.

Seasonal checkups for every system in your home.
Seasonal checkups catch small problems before they become emergencies — and keep your systems running efficiently all year.
Hydro jetting is available from all four Element teams: Flagstaff, Durango, St. George & Hurricane and Jackson. Not every slow drain needs it, so the local plumber will tell you whether a cable or a full jetting fits your line before any work starts.
Jetting a sound pipe at the right pressure is safe. The risk is a line that’s already cracked, collapsed or badly corroded, which is why we check older or unknown lines first and adjust the pressure for the material. If a camera shows damage, jetting isn’t the answer and we’ll talk about sewer line repair instead.
A snake, or cable, drills through a blockage and opens a path for water. Jetting uses high-pressure water to wash the entire inside of the pipe, which removes the grease, scale and root hairs that a cable rides past. For one-off clogs a cable is usually enough. For repeat clogs, jetting is the more lasting fix.
It clears roots out of the line, but it doesn’t seal the joint they came through, so they can grow back over time. If roots return often, the lasting fix is repairing or lining that section. Our trenchless sewer repair page explains how a liner closes those gaps without digging up the yard.
Most homes only need it when a problem shows up. Houses with heavy kitchen use, very hard water or a known root problem sometimes benefit from a cleaning every year or two. We’ll give you an honest read after the first jetting, based on what we saw in the line, rather than signing you up for visits you don’t need.
