Once a year, ideally in early fall before you need the heat. A tune-up cleans the burners and flame sensor, checks the igniter, heat exchanger and venting, tests the safety controls and carbon monoxide risk, and replaces or checks the filter. It catches worn parts before they fail on the coldest night of the year, keeps the furnace efficient and is usually required to keep the manufacturer’s warranty valid.

Furnace maintenance is offered by our St. George & Hurricane team, where you can book our $59 furnace tune-up. Our Flagstaff, Durango and Jackson teams don’t service furnaces. Many mountain homes around Durango heat with a boiler instead, and our Durango team offers annual boiler service. The Element Maintenance Plan schedules these seasonal visits for you.
