EV Charger Installation
Most electric vehicles come with a cord that plugs into an ordinary outlet. It works, slowly, adding only a few miles of range for each hour on the plug. For daily driving, that often isn’t enough. A Level 2 charger runs on a 240-volt circuit, like an electric dryer, and can typically refill a car overnight. EV charger installation cost comes down to three things: whether your panel has the capacity, how far the new circuit has to run, and the charger you choose. Getting there safely means checking all three before anything is mounted.
We start with a load calculation, so we know whether your existing panel can handle the charger or needs a panel upgrade first. Then we run the dedicated circuit, install the charger in a garage, carport or driveway, and test it with your vehicle. EV charger installation is offered by our St. George and Hurricane electrical team; Element doesn’t provide electrical service at its other locations.
Reasons to Upgrade
If your EV routine feels like a chore, a Level 2 charger usually fixes it.
A standard outlet can’t replace the miles you drove that day.
You want charging ready before the car arrives.
Waiting at a public station when you’d rather charge at home.
More than one vehicle that needs charging on the same night.
A charging cord stretched to an outlet that wasn’t meant for it.
You want to charge with your own power and schedule it smartly.
What We Install
Everything between your panel and your charging port.
How It Works
The circuit length, your panel’s spare capacity and the charger itself set the price. Here’s how we get to a firm number.
Tell us your vehicle, where you park and where the panel is.
We calculate capacity and plan the circuit route to the charger.
You see the full price, including any panel work, before we start.
We wire and mount the charger, then test it with your car plugged in.

Element’s Flagstaff, Durango and Jackson locations don’t provide electrical service, including EV chargers. Our electricians there check your panel before recommending a charger.
Level 1 uses a standard 120-volt outlet and the cord that came with your car. It’s slow, best for plug-in hybrids or very short commutes. Level 2 uses a 240-volt circuit and charges several times faster, enough to fill most cars overnight. For a car you drive every day, Level 2 is usually the practical choice.
Maybe. It depends on your panel’s size, how much of it is already in use and the charger’s amperage. Many homes have room; some older or fully loaded panels don’t. Our load calculation answers it before you spend anything. If an upgrade is needed, see panel upgrades.
Yes, as long as the charger is rated for outdoor use and the circuit is installed with the right weatherproof fittings. In a hot climate, a shaded wall helps the equipment and the cable last. We’ll help pick a spot where the cable reaches your charging port without crossing walkways.
Yes. Financing is available for EV charger installations and any panel work they require. You’ll get the full price up front, approve it before we begin, and estimates are free. Ask about current financing terms when you book your site visit, and we’ll walk you through them.
Nationally, a Level 2 home EV charger installation often runs about $500 to $2,500 when the panel has room and the garage is close to it. A long circuit run, a detached garage or a panel upgrade can push the total higher, and the charger itself adds a few hundred dollars. Those are national ranges that vary by home. Element gives a written, upfront price for your home after the load check, and estimates are free.
