City water is treated and tested to meet federal safety standards, so for most households filtration is about taste, comfort and protecting the home rather than urgent safety. The most common complaints are the chlorine or chloramine taste and smell from disinfection, sediment after main breaks or flushing, and hardness that leaves scale everywhere.

It can also be about what happens after the water leaves the treatment plant. Older service lines and household plumbing can add lead or rust, and your utility’s annual water quality report (the Consumer Confidence Report) tells you what’s in the source water. A whole-home carbon filter improves every tap and shower; a reverse osmosis system adds a higher level of treatment at the kitchen sink.

City water treatment systems are offered by our St. George & Hurricane and Jackson teams, water filtration by all four locations, and reverse osmosis by our St. George & Hurricane team.
