In St. George, Hurricane and the rest of Washington County, the big three are desert dust, seasonal pollen and wildfire smoke drifting in from fires across the West. Because homes are closed up and running the AC for much of the year, whatever gets inside keeps circulating.
Start with the filter. A higher-efficiency pleated filter (MERV 8 to 13, as your system allows) captures far more fine dust and pollen than a basic fiberglass one; change it every one to three months. Beyond that, whole-home air purifiers and media filters installed in the ductwork, UV lights that keep the indoor coil free of mold and bacteria, and humidifiers for the dry winter months can make a real difference, especially for allergy and asthma sufferers. Keeping the HVAC system itself clean and maintained matters too.
Indoor air quality products and service are offered by our St. George & Hurricane team, which also checks and changes filters as part of every heating and AC tune-up. Indoor air quality service isn’t offered in Flagstaff, Durango or Jackson.
